Sad day :(

I'm super sad today because we had to surrender our cats to the humane society.  We've been having issues with them not using the litter box for the last year or so and no matter what we tried, it didn't stop.  We tried moving it, changing the box and the litter type, cleaning it out every morning, but they just kept at it.  Even took them to get checked up to see if it was a medical issue but everything came back normal. 

We are also putting our house on the market and we just can't risk the floors or furniture getting damaged.  No one wants to buy a house that smells like a litter box.  I think we did what had to be done, but I can't help feeling like a horrible person, like I just threw them away.  Other than the litter issue, they were great cats.  I wish we could have figured out a solution that would have fixed the problem.

Thanks everyone.  I keep thinking they are going to run by or be outside of our bedroom door waiting for us to come out.  It definitely sucks, but it was also really nice not to clean up cat poop this morning.

That sucks but I know the feeling. We took our dog to the humane society two weeks ago and sometimes I still think I'm going to be woken up by a giant wet nose to the face.
