Odie (my fur baby) is staying with my sister right now until I move into my new apartment. They have a big hole in their fence in the back yard and Odie got out last night.

OKAY. I KID YOU NOT. THIS DOG WEIGHS 3 POUNDS.

I didn't sleep AT ALL when I got the call last night from my sister.

Well this morning while I was at work my sister calls me and said that Odie was in the back yard and they just couldn't see him last night. I guess he was just being defiant by not responding to their call. My genius nieces (ages 2 & 5) found him. I'm putting them in charge from now on.

  • I can't imagine!! The idea of our dog running away is one of my biggest fears! I'm glad that he was safe and I agree with keeping your nieces in charge!

  • Yeah. No way in he!! would I let my sister let my dog out when he wasn't on a leash from now on. A three pound dog has no business being outside at night by himself. He'd make a handy snack for a hawk or an owl.

My accross the yard neighbor has a tsih tsu. He dug a hole under the fence and snuck out. Somebody 5 blocks away found him.

After that, neighbor plugged the hole.:)

Never leave your dog unattended, day OR night.

Even in the day lots can happen: hawks and other birds of prey are afoot/aloft, kids can open the gate and let him or (or worse --- they could tease him or feed him something he is not permitted to eat) and he could even get stung by some insect or get hurt playing on something.
