SBC - The Devil Wears Prada

For the "Read a book whose movie you've already seen" task I read The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.

I really loved the movie. I actually didn't know it was a book when I originally saw it. I was excited to read it for this task.

There were quite a few differences between the book and the movie as I remember it, so it's hard to really compare them. But as their own individual stories, I'd have to say I actually enjoyed the movie more. That's definitely a rarity. Maybe it simply is because I saw the movie first. I guess I'd have to watch the movie again to know. *shrug*

  • Definitely liked the movie better.  Maybe it was because of the couture clothing montage or Meryl Streep...

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • Sorry that's so huge.
  • For me this was one time where I actually liked both the book and the movie equally. I saw the movie when it came out and I just read the book last year. I have to admit I don't remember details of the movie so I notice the differences too much. I just remember being pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the book!
  • I liked the movie better too!  Probably one of the only times that has happened.
  • I really didn't care for the book, but loved the movie. Can't go wrong with Meryl Streep!

Modern Family. Cameron Tucker. Meryl Streep is Perfection.

  • Meryl was the perfect Miranda. I'd even be willing to sit through the sequel of this book with her reprising the role.

  • I can say this about maybe one or two books but for me the movie wins hands down over the book. Meryl is perfection.
