SBC New York Times Notable Book: A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout (NS)

I've never actually yelled at a book until this one. Amanda Lindhout is a Canadian wanna be journalist that convinces her photographer ex boyfriend to go to Somalia with her in 2008. Surprise, they get kidnapped. Naive does not even begin to describe Ms. Lindhout, she was damn stupid and cost my government an unknown amount of tax dollars. End rant. That being said the book itself was beautifully written by Sara Corbett and it tells Amanda's story in a compelling way. I still haven't decided how to rate this book. I would definitely recommend reading it if you would like some insight into Somalia.
