Reading Lottery: This is the Story of a Happy Marriage

This book is a memoir in the form of a collection of essays by Ann Patchett.   This was most definitely not a book I would have selected on my own but I did enjoy it.  Its still not my style of book as I rarely read memoirs or collections of essays/short stories.  I feel like she did an excellent job organizing her essays into a cohesive book about her life.  Thank you for the book suggestion @jackiback

The one about her bookstore sparked many memories of the bookstore we would frequent as a kid.  I remember them knowing my name and picking out books they knew I would love.  It made me want to find an independent bookstore even more.

Also a random funny, my family's business was mentioned by name in one of her essays.  How crazy is that?

  • That's so crazy about your family business being mentioned!!! How neat!

It doesn't sound like my type of book either, but I guess that's part of the fun of the reading lottery!

  • That is so funny that your family's business was mentioned!  Free publicity!  And you never would have known without the Reading Lottery.  :)
