We purchased our first home in March (go us!!!) and although the house really was move-in ready, DH and FIL are perfectionists, so we're fixing/re-doing a few things before we move in. One of those things is the flooring in the master bedroom. We can't agree. DH wants carpet for these reasons: nice price (even though we've picked out premium carpet and padding), soft and warm underfoot, and he is more traditional. I would rather laminate (which is what we have in our current home and we absolutely adore it) for these reasons: better for allergies, placing a rug under the bed creates visual interest, easy to change out rug when you're ready for a change. We thought about the faux wood tile for the living room and hallway, but I'm thinking it may be a fad that will be out in a few years. What do your prefer for your bedrooms? Wood, carpet, or tile? Why?
Re: Master bedroom flooring
I dislike tile and I couldn't even imagine it in a bedroom. It seems odd...
I think carpet is the best choice.
