I've begun to realize that we've served our friends and family the same apps several times.  I'm apparently running out of ideas.  I always like apps that are quick and easy as I'm usually busy enough with dinner.  I also like to have things I can get together quickly if people come over last minute  Thoughts? Favorites?

hmmm some of my go tos:

Crescent wrapped brie- you can serve in slices or with crackers

This doesn't have a name but its cream cheese spread on the bottom of a pie plate, topped with salsa and shredded cheese, bake until cheese melted and serve with tortilla chips

Homemade Brushetta (sp)

Spinach artichoke dip

Thanks everyone!  I'm saving these.  The cranberry green onion dip looks perfect, but I'm allergic to cranberries, so I'm going to  use dried cherries

I like things that can be put out and left out without having to worry about them. I usually do veggies & dip, shrimp cocktail, cheese & crackers and then some sort of hot dip in a mini crock pot I have. H's favorite is sausage in this sweet & sour sauce. Sometimes I'll do pigs in a blanket or fresh salsa and/or guac and chips.

Cheese Truffles are one of my favorite apps to make for family and friends. You can leave the booze out if kids are going to be eating them.

Crabbies are great -- they're so easy and yummy.  If you want to make them ahead of time, you can make them up and cut them into quarters and freeze then store in freezer bags.  Then you can just stick them under the broiler whenever you need them  (They are so handy to have ready to go during holiday time for drop-ins.)
