We acknowledge it, and if our schedules work, we'll go out to dinner.  Nothing fancy though.  I'm sure when we hit our 10 year dating anniversary (in 3 years), we'll probably do something nice.

I usually use it as an excuse to go out to dinner, but we do not exchange gifts.  It's more of a conversation where we reminisce about how we've changed over the years.

Kinda. Last year I got DH (since we weren't married yet) a VIP ticket to the Beer, Bourbon, & BBQ festival for our dating anniversary. Since we both loved it and were very shnockered, we're going again this year, but it's more of something we loved that happens to be around the time of our dating anniversary. I hope it continues.

My H argues this sometimes too.  If you count  from when we made it "FB official" the 3rd time we got back together, then we technically have only been together 5 years instead of 10.

Not really, since neither of us can remember the exact date.  It's also only about a month away from our wedding anniversary, so we just go with that one for most dating of our relationship.

  • We used to try to go out to dinner to celebrate but haven't done that in a few years. This year will be 10 years though so we will probably do something for that. One thing we make sure we do every year though is wish each other "happy x month anniversary." So this year will be our 120 month anniversary. We started dating in our late teens so we were one of those silly couples that would celebrate every month for the first year or so, lol. Then it just became a silly thing we enjoyed doing so we kept it up.

Ours is 4 days before Christmas, so it tends to get rolled into one. Even before we were married we tended to combine anniversary and Christmas gifts (we had 8 dating anniversaries before we were married, haha). We mostly just acknowledge it at this point but definitely focus more on the wedding anniversary.

We might acknowledge it if we remember it. But it's the day after Valentines (which we don't really celebrate either.) I refused to be "that girl" who had to have a date on that day. DH claims he didn't realize what date he asked me out for.

Good point. It's the opposite for us. Our wedding anniversary is Oct and our birthdays are both in Nov. But our dating anniversary is June. So it's a nice excuse to celebrate something outside of fall.
