SBC - Dream Itinerary - Claudia, Wife of Pontius Pilate
So for this category I read (or moreso listened to) Claudia, Wife of Pontius Pilate by Diana Wallis Taylor. This is a historical fiction book about Claudia. It is set in both Italy and Jerusalem (convenient since I'd love to visit both places). I did enjoy the book although I found it a bit hokey at points. Also the author didn't have a "here's the facts and this is what I changed" section, which I love in historical fiction books. For those reasons I gave it 3 stars.
Now onto my dream itinerary....wow, well what wouldn't I like to see? Of course Rome has so much to offer, I'd love to see all the typical sights, the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, etc... Also being a musician I'd love to catch an opera, symphony etc... Once I was done with Rome I'd then love to do a wine type tour of parts of Italy. I love wine and of course while I was there I would need to try as many types as possible.
My husband has already been to Jerusalem twice (lucky!) so he has me very excited to go someday. I think the key for me would be finding a fabulous tour guide. Otherwise I feel like I might wander past things and not realize their historical significance. I love reading the bible, and for me it would be the first time I could actually see all these places that I've only read about. I imagine it would be a very emotional trip.
Someday hopefully DH and I will make it over to Europe, not only for Italy/Jerusalem but also the many other countries we'd love to visit!
