SBC memoir written by a man: God Grew Tired of Us

I saw the documentary God Grew Tired of Us several years ago and the story of the Lost Boys of Sudan as they make their way through civil war in Sudan, refugee camps and to the United States has always stayed with me. I decided to read the memoir by John Bul Dau for SBC and I am glad I did. His story is so heartbreaking and inspiring, and the history of Sudan is interesting. It really makes me realize how much I take for granted in my daily life, and makes me appreciate all the opportunities I have been given.

I gave this book three stars because I think it could have been longer. I would have liked to read more on the history of Sudan. Between the documentary and this book I think I preferred the documentary overall, and if I hadn't seen that first I might have rated the book higher. Overall it was a good read and a fascinating story.
