Finn Michael was born on Friday the 23rd via c-section at 9:40pm. He was 7lbs 8 oz and 19.25 inches long.
I have been out of work since 34 weeks because of my BP, and originally had a RCS scheduled for this coming Friday. However, my BP was high at my appt on Friday (38 weeks) and they sent me for monitoring at the hospital. Since I only had a week until my scheduled section, and they didn't want my BP to get any worse over the long weekend, they decided we would have the baby that day. It is truly amazing the differences between a scheduled c-section and an emergency c-section. Of course, now recovery is much more difficult with a toddler running around, but we are managing. We came home yesterday, and Cora is still adjusting, but we will get there.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
