Rustoleum Transformation

We just purchased our first home and the kitchen has ugly oak cabinets and white laminate counter tops.  I've been reading some awesome reviews about the Rustoluem cabinet and counter transformation kits and was wondering if anyone would like to share their experience?

I'm also going back and forth on colors.  Option 1 is to do white (or off white??) cabinets/chocolate counters but option 2 is to do espresso cabinets/sand colored counters.  The house is really small so I was thinking that the light cabinets might make it feel bigger.  But at the same time I'm worried that it will be easier to cover the oak with the espresso and may make it look more high end.  Opinions?

Re: Rustoleum Transformation

  • My parents covered oak cabinets with espresso and it turned out lovely! It's been a little over a year now and they were saying how they will be touching up a few spots that see more use (under the sink from belts rubbing up against it when doing the dishes) but other than that they are happy with them!

Luckily, when we purchased our home we had newer white cabinets but the counter top is a horrible shade of green, I'd love to try Rustoleum on them but I'm scared of how it will turn out. Curious to see if anyone has tried it.
