I finally got
A Vintage Affair from my library's overdrive, and finished it this weekend. I liked it a lot! I'm so glad I participated in the reading lottery, because I never would have picked up this book otherwise.
There was just a touch of historical fiction in this, which I loved. Actually, I wish the author spent more time on that part of the story. I loved the characters, and how they grew and developed from the start to the end. The friendships, actually all the relationships, were great, and had such lovely arcs.
I didn't love the endless clothing descriptions ... well, I guess it's more accurate to say that I didn't *get* all those descriptions and references. I know nothing about fashion, let alone vintage fashion, so I groaned at that stuff by about halfway through the book. I found myself wishing for pictures, because a lot of that went over my head.
Overall, I definitely recommend this one!
