SBC: 6 word title WIJFR: The First Phone Call From Heaven, Mitch Albom (ns)
I'm from "Detroit" and listen to Mitch Albom on my way home from work occasionally which is part of the reason that I picked up this book. It also filled the SBC category: Read a book whose title is at least 6 words long.
Like all of his books this was a quick read and focused on spirituality and faith. It takes place in the fictional town of Coldwater, Michigan on Lake Michigan and starts with people receiving phone calls from their deceased loved ones and one character, Sully, being released from prison only days after his wife died. As the story progresses there are more calls and the media gets involved and the details unfold surrounding Sully's sentence and his wife's death. I didnt particularly like it or enjoy it and it sure didn't make me feel much of anything. I gave it 2 stars. It has been about 10 years since I read Albom's The Five People You Meet In Heaven and longer since I read Tuesdays with Morrie (which I really enjoyed at the time) and I'm wondering if I would enjoy them as much now because of how much I didnt enjoy this book.
