Bottom Dollar Question

A Bottom Dollar opened up the street from me on Thursday. I wanted to stop after work today to use the nice coupon they sent me in the mail.

Are they like Aldi? Do I need to bring bags and have a quarter for the cart? Do they take credit cards? I want to make sure I get cash at lunch if necessary.

What is worth buying there and what should I consider avoiding?

No to all those things. But to use the coupon you need to sign up for their rewards card. They do the "we got a deal" thing so it isn't consistent in its offerings, it is like Value King.

I've given up on personal privacy. I'll submit myself to the rewards card. I have four weeks of coupons in my wallet. I'm all about $10 off of $20 purchases

I totally understand. They only times I have gone was when I had the coupons when they opened on McKnight! Both of the stores by me are out of my way so I would have to make an effort and no coupons means no effort!  :P

It's so convenient to my house, that if the parking lot is easier to deal with than the garages at GE and Aldi, I may become a regular shopper if I like the store well enough.

At our Bottom Dollar you do need a quarter for the cart.   I walked up to the store one day, tried to get in the exit, then finally figured out how to get in, only to realize that I had to go back to my car for my "Aldi Quarter" to use a buggy.

There is a Bottom Dollar right next to my office. I really like it and do most of my shopping there.

You can take bags but they do have boxes available. Some stores require a quarter for the cart others don't.

I would stay away from the meat. I've bought the purdue chicken with no issue - but I'd steer clear of other meat offerings. Weird textures, stringy.

Their produce is phenomenally priced and good quality. They have spaghetti squash for $0.99/lb most days. They have major label items too. You may have trouble getting some items there, as they just don't carry certain things - but the staples I've bought there are always stocked. If it weren't for the meat issue, I could do all of my shopping there.

I've had similar issues with Aldi meat. I just stick to Costco giant packs of meat and chicken now, lol.
