Is it pathetic that I had to google this?  I had no idea about any of this.  Maybe I need to spend more time watching the news and less time watching adult swim.

I would have said that he was just a whistleblower until he started talking about what we are doing to get information about other countries.

I have such mixed feelings on this...

One the one hand, what he exposed was true....on the other, he put our country at risk.

This is how I feel. I feel like having a clearance myself, there's a sense of responsibility that comes with it. I hate he put our country at risk after being trusted with information. Although he got it through shady means didn't he? Like he was IT and weasled his way into people's computer.

I don't know enough about it to have an opinion. I had to look it up as well :-/ I've been making an attempt to follow more news, but it's a slow process!

I don't know how I feel. I mean on the one hand, the people had a right to know their information was being used. On the other, he went too far with the information he had.

H said I have a super biased opinion since i work in that realm... but he is clearly a traitor. He violated the espionage laws and royally screwed the country he claims to care about over. Oh and of all places to run he went to biggest enemies which shows malice intent.

Yes, I do.  I think he used to security clearance for the wrong thing.  Like @mana8503 said, there's a sense of responsibility that comes with that clearance.  He didn't take his responsibility seriously.  Then, he went to an enemy country for protection.  He put many people at risk.
