What's Happening?

The resurrected beef and beer post and a lot of you thinking HW was KU again got me to thinking what's been going on with everyone.  I've kind of lost track of who is expecting, etc.  So without further adieu...

  • Little guy is getting so big!  He is not quite walking yet unassisted, but he does walk holding onto just one of our fingers.  He also manages to get all over the house either by cruising or crawling.  He also just started to crawl backwards.  He is very playful and is fascinated by being able to fit objects inside other objects (i.e. balls in a bucket).  He is very easy going and keeps us on our toes, but he does have a bit of a stubborn streak.  Watching his little personality begin to emerge is amazing.  I just love being his Mommy!

  • Agree - I saw all those veteran nesties and got my hopes up they were back to help liven up the place.

Anyway, here is a refresher over the past year: we moved back to Michigan, bought a house, started a new job, dh quit his job and opened a used motorcycle dealership, I'm now the breadwinner in the family, dd will be 3 in a couple weeks and #2 is due in September (team green).

    I need a nap.

Also, I miss Philly so much, best place to live and best people by far!

  • Henry is now 9 months and becoming a very big boy. He's been crawling and cruising since 6 months. We thought he may be walking by now when he started crawling so early but he shows little interest in walking without the aid of mom and dad or his lion walker. He's in to everything which makes for long days of chasing after him! He loves clapping and to pull to things out of bags (even better if that bag is my purse!). He's finally sleeping through the night, waking only once around 4am to nurse and go right back to bed. Solids have been going great. We're up to three meals a day and he pretty much eats everything we give him.

I fully quit my job, I had been working about 15 hours a month but the time came to say goodbye! I love being a SAHM and hope we can continue to afford my staying home. I'm really looking forward to my summer "off" after such a long and cold winter. Having a baby in the fall turned out to be great. It's so nice taking him to a park or the pool and being able to see him enjoying himself.

@Babe2331 & @Newqueen It sounds like your boys are at a fun age, and just in time for summer.  Are you guys brave enough to head down the shore with them at all?

@Jpeifer I think it's safe to say that you win the whole who has the most going on. That is a lot of life changes. I remember you posting before about your move, and hope you're all settled in by now.

I'm 14 weeks, and already sporting a bump.  I thought I had at least another 2-3 weeks to go...ha, in my dreams! Aside from being preggo--which has been a piece of cake so far--not much else to report. Heading to Aruba for a babymoon next month, and I am already counting down the days.

  • Hi Everyone!

B is also nine months old already! She can walk while holding on to the furniture or our fingers and talks up a storm. She says "ma-ma" a lot, but I don't know if she relates it to me at all (I pretend that she does). We took her on her first trip--to Boston--recently, and she did great on the flight and while we were out and about there. She loves to snuggle and have stories read to her at night before bed. Her favorite things right now are the dog, Cheerios, and rooting around in my purse and emptying its contents onto the floor.

I'm still working full time, but the older she gets and the more fun she becomes, the harder it is to be away from her. We are going through some changes in my office though, which I am hoping will lead to greater flexibility in terms of my schedule. Fingers crossed. In general, though, I am enjoying my job (started a new one in March), so that does help with missing her throughout the day.
  • Hey everyone!
My little monster is going to be three in October.  I don't even know how that happened.  He is such a little ham.  I knows how to get a laugh out of people.  Yesterday he pointed at a bottle of beer in the fridge and said "Imma drink beer cause Imma MAAAAANNN".  We are still working on potty training- I am not rushing him.  I figured he won't go to first grade in a diaper, right?

We are still trying for our second.  We did manage to get pregnant in February, but lost the baby in March.  This marks our 11th month of trying, so I am really hoping that we don't cross the 1 year mark.

I am officially a licensed Realtor too!  Doing that part time while I still work full time.  I hope to make the switch to full time real estate by the first of the year, but we shall see.  Being a working mom with two jobs seemed like such a good idea on paper, but it's a lot of damn work ;)

  • All these babies aren't babies anymore!

If you can believe it, we are STILL freaking house hunting.  I really think this winter was a complete wash so it's like we just started all over again about a month or so ago.  Our plan is to do this once so we're willing to be patient.

DS is 2.5, going on 25.  He's scary smart and hilariously funny. H and I find ourselves collapsing into bed each night from sheer exhaustion.  We definitely have our hands full.

Glad to see everyone is doing well!
  • Congrats SJU!

Amer - I still refer to you as this in my head.  fx for a bfp soon and I'm sorry for your loss.

I can't believe it has been so long since I first started on this board and how much has changed with all of us.  I will say, this board was so nice to have when I moved there, I met some great people.  I can't say I've had the same luck as my new local board is even more dead than this one.

  • Amy - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss :-( I hope you get another BFP soon.

Things on this front are going well. Left my job to SAHM. My son will be three in October, and is just the smartest little cookie. He's pretty much the coolest kid, and the best big brother. My daughter is 6 months today, and already growing wayyyyy too fast! She's rolling and crawling and sitting up on her own now, and has so much chunk and rolls I want to eat them. We are good with 2 for another year or two before we TTC for #3, but it took us 13 months with each of them, and a few losses along the way, so we don't want to wait TOO long.

  • Hi ladies!

Amy, so sorry for your loss.  Fingers crossed for you.

Things are great in my neck of the woods.  DD is 21 months and is so fun.  I want to freeze her in this age.

I left my teaching job last June with no plans in sight, but got a call randomly from an old boss from 8 years ago to ask if I'd be interested in coming back.  So I'm working part-time and loving it.  Will probably go full-time in the next few months, but have  to work out some details first.

We have two vacations coming up in July - one with DH's family and one with mine.  I am so excited for both.

I can't believe how big all the babies on the board are getting...it makes me feel old!
