When you say "carried over" is that when you have leftovers? Or when you have bought everything to make a certain recipe and haven't cooked it yet?

Sunday - Salmon with wild rice and kale
Monday - Pasta with tomato sauce
    Tuesday - Tofu stir fry
Wednesday - Perogies with BBQ pork chops and asparagus
Friday - Frozen pizza (I am assuming this is what the DH will consume while I am away)

  • @GEOG, carried over is when I planned to make it last week and then never did, lol. So I bought the ingredients and still have them to use up.

  • I didn't go grocery shopping this weekend so I have to see what we have in the freezer. I know I have the makings for:
    goat cheese gnocchi
    cashew chicken
    eggplant & chicken parm
pork chops w/ a starch and veggie

Where do you get your clams from (grocery store, seafood market)? How do you prep them for cooking? DH wants us to make some, but I usually get sand in mine, and it kills the meal for me. I would eat them a lot more if they didn't have sand/grit in them.

  • @GABride2010- i can not tell a lie, for this recipe it just called for the canned clams. So i used those and i thought it worked just fine.

I have another recipe that i really want to try that calls for actual clams, i would probably pick these up from my local grocery store. they have bags of clams at the seafood department. Ive never tried it before though!   We dont live in an area that has an actual seafood market.

  • I can't help but butt into the clam conversation. If you let the clams soak in cool tap water for 20 minutes before cooking them they should spit out their sand and grit.
I usually get them from my local supermarket and have had great results!
