WIJFR: Lingering Echoes (NS)
I just finished reading Lingering Echoes by Erica Kiefer. This was a review book from Netgalley, and I decided to use it for the Previous Challenge task (read and post a review) for SuBC.
The concept was a familiar one I've been seeing in YA books. Girl and guy meet. Girl and guy struggle with their pasts. Girl and guy fall in love and have to work through their own issues if they want to hold onto their relationship.
I like these kinds of stories. I'm a sucker for these stories. This one started out fine, but I felt like it dragged on. Authors need to be descriptive, but this was a bit overboard. I ended up skimming quite a few times, because I just didn't care about the detailed description of the lake or sky. Allie, the main character, got on my nerves sometimes. I got that she was seriously struggling with something, but she was just dense about some other things. She was also quite self-centered in the beginning of the book, but she experienced some personal growth as the story unfolded (a positive.) I ended up giving the book 3 stars on Goodreads. It's the start of a series, but I don't know if I'll read the second one.
