Re: NOTD - German names

  • Adelaide is okay, but seems kind of trendy to me. It also shares the "Addy" nn with Adalyn, which is super trendy, so I shy away from that.

Greta is NMS, but it's not awful.

I really like Lorelei, especially with the nn Rori. But it hasn't made the cut for us in terms of other girl's names we like more.

Bruno is growing on me. Maybe because I adore Bruno Mars, haha. I don't think DH would go for it though.

Deitrich is a big fat no. I just don't like it.

Kellen is kind of cool. We actually had a Kellen in my high school. Again, DH would never go for it, though.

  • I kind of like the Adelaide, but like lucky said, it sounds too trendy.

Kellen, kind of cute.  I think I like this one...  :)

    The others, nms at all....

  • I like all three girl names but DH wouldn't...especially Greta because it would remind him of a Gretchen he worked with. None of the boy names are really our style.
"I said what I meant and I meant what I said, an elephant's faithful 100%" Dr. Seuss, Horton Hatches The Egg. My Ovulation Chart Ttc buddies with LexiMS!
  • I don't mind any of them for someone else's kid, but I wouldn't use any of them.

  • I really like all 3 girls names but the only one even close to the short list is Adelaide.

The boy names are all NMS but I do like Killian instead of Kellen.

    Greta - NMS
Lorelei - I love this name. But I would be afraid she would be NN Rory and that's our dog's name!

    Bruno - No.
    Dietrich - NMS.
