Weekend in Cincinnati?

My husband really wants to go to Cincinnati for a weekend (he wants to go to a tennis tournament).  For various reasons related to childcare I'm not that excited about it, but I should do this for him if it works out.  So...assuming it does, recs for places to stay, things to do, places to eat?

Thanks.

Re: Weekend in Cincinnati?

  • Hi Meeshe!

I'm actually from Cincinnati, and I understand your concern. The city is very kid friendly, and there are some great parks and some good food. Definitely go to Skyline, the kids will love getting hotdogs and spaghetti and meanwhile you can try out the world famous chili. Also, the kids will love Greaters ice-cream. If your husband likes ribs, go to Montgomery ribs for dinner.

For kid friendly parks, head up to Mount Adams, (There is a butterfly exhibit that's pretty cool. But I can't remember what time of year that is. It may be in the Spring.) Go to the Children's museum, the history museum- they are both awesome! (The history museum has great kid friendly exhibits. You can go through the exhibits of riverboats and Cincinnati through the ages.)  If they like baseball, take them to a Reds game.  The art museums are great too.

    Good luck and have fun!
