Reading a book that a friend described as "awful" just so I can see for myself if it's really as bad as she said it was.

    What book is it?

  • I am reading heaven is for real. I really like it and I'll be done with it soon since it's such a quick read. It's number 26 for the year.

The Shadow Scholar: How I Made My Living Helping College Kids Cheat by Dave Tomar- this is a really eye opening look into the paper-mill industry and how so many students are buying their papers. I don't agree with everything he has to say about colleges completely failing students, but me makes a convincing case.

I should read this, but I am guessing it would only make me more jaded about papers.
I think you would enjoy it, but it might. He is very unapologetic about the whole thing and shows how our school systems are broken in ways that encourage this type of cheating, and also talks about the way culture is shifting.

  • The Silver Star by Jeanette Walls. I loved The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses so I'm hoping this one doesn't disappoint! It's been a bit since I posted last...figuring out life after baby has been hard and I felt stupid posting that I was reading the same book week after week after week :\">

I finished listening Into the Wild by John Krakauer yesterday. I need a new audiobook for my commute. @booneybear‌ I was going to start Infidel on audio next, should I skip it? I 'm still reading Longbourn I'm about 50% done and the story is finally kind of picking up. @packfan20‌ I know you mentioned putting this on hold at the library last week, I'm finding it to be long, drawn out with not much happening in the plot. The premise sounded so promising too. I'm slightly disappointed. I'm not going to give up on it just yet.
@muzikgrrl Hmmm.... I don't do well with long, drawn out books.

I liked matched and thought the second was OK but never finished the third. Have you finished it yet? Was wondering if the ending was good.

I'm reading Reached ( matched #3). It's only OK. I'm interested to see where the series ends but I think after this and The Maze Runner I have found that I am not a fan of the Y A geared to younger teens.

I'm also still listening to Outlander. I should have it done this week!
