SuBC Task - Book in your field - Conversations with William Primrose
For the books in my field task I read "Conversations with William Primrose". This was a transcription of many conversations had between William Primrose and David Dalton. William Primrose was a giant in the viola world and is responsible for continuing the advancement of the viola as started by Lionel Tertis.
For me I really enjoyed this book, however it isn't something that I think would fascinate anyone other than a violist. It went into great detail about many specific pieces which if you have played before can be illuminating however unless you are intimately familiar with it will make no sense.
Overall, as this book covered so many different aspects of playing the viola it is something I will come back to for years and years to come but it isn't something I would ever reccomend to someone unless they were passionate about the viola in particular.
