SOrry, i was am just being paranoid. Ignore this. ((PR))

edited July 2014 in Getting Pregnant

I got my hcg levels back finally. They were great and high Tuesday at 15,000.  Well on Thursday the results were 23,000.  So they didn't double.

Can this be okay?  I know they are supposed to double in 48 hrs and I am freaking out a little bit.  And since I am high risk, I am worried.  Could anyone put my mind at ease at all??  Tia.  xoxo

  • I believe once you are that high it doesn't matter. What did the nurse say when you got your levels back?

  • This post was probably better suited for GPM.  Also, I'm not sure why your doctor wanted betas after your first was 15,000.  But regardless, doubling times slow down as your hcg increases so your numbers are still within the "normal" range.

    "Normal" Doubling Time
    hCG levelsDoubling Time
    Under 1200 mIU/ml31-72 hours
    Between 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml72-96 hours
    Over 6000 mIU/mlmore than 96 hours

  • She said the dr was concerned.  I looked it up and it doesn't look too bad.  Said they could rise anywhere between 48 and 72 hrs.  I am just trying to relax and hope for great news Thursday.  I am guessing, hoping, that she is just being extra cautious because we are high risk.

  • Thanks girls.  I need to try not to freak out.

  • They have to level off at some point. You're probably farther along than the usual person getting initial betas done. Maybe you should not pay attention to the betas like you didn't pay attention to ttc. That was your magic answer that worked like a charm so I imagine that it would work for betas as well. You may be better off bothering GPM with this. Or at least labeling the post here.

  • Pssst. If you want us to ignore the post, you should probably also erase the original post. Because now everyone is going to come in here and read because you told us to not read it.
