Could anyone put my mind at ease a bit here??

I got my hcg levels back finally. They were great and high Tuesday at 15,000. Well on Thursday the results were 23,000. So they didn't double. Can this be okay? I know they are supposed to double in 48 hrs and I am freaking out a little bit. And since I am high risk, I am worried. Could anyone put my mind at ease at all?? Tia. xoxo

My third round was not a full double from the second round and at that point I think my numbers we in the 5000s, so they were already starting to slow. My doc was pleased with the numbers anyway.

  • I agree with the ladies above but if you want to see that your levels are in the normal range...

  • Ditto everyone else. I'm shocked they even did a second beta draw. At 15,000, you're way over the minimum most docs want betas at in order to see anything on u/s (which is like, 1500-3000). After my third draw (17,345), I stopped noting what my beta levels were, but I'm sure they didn't keep doubling every 2 days.

  • Thanks girls.  I did end up looking at several sites and it put my mind at ease.  Also reading your comments here.  Why, I wonder then, is she so concerned and wanting me to come in tomorrow for another ultrasound??  I have relaxed about it and I am not so worried but still a little concerned.

  • I think you need to ask your doctor why they are concerned. It doesn't make sense to me. Your numbers are fantastic!

Ditto. Those numbers are phenomenal. The 15,000 alone indicates a viable pregnancy (not guaranteed, just viable). If there were a problem to be concerned about right now, it's highly unlikely you would've even gotten close to that number.
