So I just found out my husband has been lying to me, so here it is. Dh just accepted a new job, he did not want to leave the current job high and dry so he was going to put in his two weeks notice. But the problem being he needed to start the new job ASAP. So we decided that he would do both jobs for two weeks (old job is working nights and the new job is second shift), then once the two weeks was up he would just be working the new job. He and I decided that since it was only two weeks it would be doable, not easy but we could get it done. So tonight we are talking as he is getting ready for work, I say well at least you only have six more days of this horrible schedule. He just kind of grunts, I jokingly say, what you didn't put in your notice. He says actually no I have not yet. He goes on to tell me that the money would be good for us and he just wanted to see how long he could keep up the schedule. I am on one hand furious, he lied to me. We have talked about this all week and how it would be ending soon and he knew full well that he hadn't even put in his notice. On the other hand I realize he is trying to think of how doing both would financially help us.(we are trying to buy a house and have a daughter and would like more children.) But that is no reason to lie to me about it.
Re: Husband lying
Only he can explain why he lied.
And maybe this isn't a lie per se -- maybe he procrastinated giving in his notice, maybe he can't find a way to give in his notice --- I don't know.
ALl he really needs to do is hand in a one paragraph resignation letter:
Dear Mr. Boss:
Effectve today, July 28, 2014 I am tendering my resignation. I have attained a job at another company.
My last date of employment will be on August 10, 2014.
I thank you for the opportuinties that you and ABC Company has offered me.
Sincerely yours,
Your H..
That's all he has to do. Will take him about 30 seconds to compose, print and sign.
