My babysitter, who I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, called this morning to tell me that she got a teaching job-read- can't watch my kids anymore.

I'm not mad at her bc I know she just applied on a whim, and it's an awesome opportunity, and they need it financially.

BUT- I'm freaking out. I have less than a month...and no childcare. Also, Lil is registered for preschool near the babysitter's house..not mine. F MY LIFE.

So, after picking up the pieces of my heart, I've started looking. I emailed the preschool around here to see if I could get Lil back in- I won't hear back for a few days, I"m sure, because it's the summer.

I joined Care.com and put up a job, as well as contacted 92384098 sitters. I'd love to have someone come here, but I'm afraid I'm only able to afford crack heads.

I found 1 lady who sits in her house, I'm going to talk to N about meeting her. She'd be able to take L to preschool (either place) and is about the same price as before.

My other option is my bff would watch them. It might take some scheduling with drop off, Also, she's having a baby in Feb- but I guess we could cross that bridge when we get to it.

I found out today, also, that my school is going to the high school schedule- so I'd have to be there by 7. This means I need childcare that N can drop off on the way, otherwise I'd have to have the kids in the car by 6:15 and I HATE the idea of waking them so early.

My neighbor put out a post to her church mom's group to see if any of the SAHM wants some $$. Pray for me people, I'm freakin the F out. And I"m just so sad.

Oh no Steph! I'm so sorry! I hope you can work something out soon. Losing a babysitter you love is the worst.

I think my bff Stacy is going to watch them. She lives in a spot where N could drop off and I could pick up, and close enough to the preschool that it would work. She is due in Feb with a baby, but I think I could find someone for that month or so.

I feel kind of uneasy about the situation, and I'm not sure why. My priority is that I find someone that will love my children while i"m not there, and that is exactly what Stacy will do. Also, I know she is flexible if I need to drop off early or pick up late, as well as she's okay with my schedule and me not paying over breaks and holidays.

I found a woman who watches kids in her house near here, who would have been my #1 if Stacy didn't want it. I told her the situation and it sounds like she'd be interested in watching the girls for the month or so while Stacy has her baby, so hopefully that is still true when the time comes.

This has been SO emotional for N and I, it's crazy!! Ugh.
