What's Cooking?

We haven't done one of these in a while...

Re: What's Cooking?

  • Ha! Having a fridge is a necessary part to what's cooking, and poor me is going on week 2 without one.  We came home from vacation two Saturday's ago to a broken fridge - because that's what you want to walk into at 9:30pm after traveling all day...a smelly house and rotting food. Sears was out 2x this week to fix it, and ended up ruining the fridge this weekend.

Now we are supposed to wait to hear back from someone at some point this week about how we can get a new fridge. Everyone has zero info so far. I am so sick of take out, especially since all we did was eat out on vacation.

  • I've been so hit or miss with cooking lately.  Some nights I just plain don't feel like it.  But I try to stick with my staples.  I made a big batch of meatballs and sauce a couple of weeks ago.

Last night I made this chicken marsala recipe.

Saturday night I was bored and made this French bread I pinned ages ago.  Then I made French bread pizzas out of them one night and French toast one morning.  OMG so good.  And the bread was seriously the easiest thing ever to make.

I usually try to use my crockpot once a week for either turkey meatloaf or ranch pork chops or something quick and easy like that.

Hopefully I can get my new kitchen set up quick after we move so I can get started cooking like a mad man this winter.
  • We are in the middle of moving, and cooking is the last thing on my mind.  All of the dishes are packed.  Hoping once we are settled, we will get back in the groove we had.  In the meantime, I am pinning new recipes to use with my super picky husband :)
