  • Does it count that I donate money every paycheck to a lung cancer foundation? Otherwise we are working on cleaning out the house of excess stuff so we will probably donate a bag of stuff to goodwill soon.

  • @pengy16 Yes, that would count.  And so would the donation.  I'm planning on donating a bunch of stuff once I clean my closet out too.

  • My SIL just posted a project on Donor's Choose. Would that count?
  • I've gone through our closets to gather clothing and housewares we no longer use and will be donating them to a thrift store.  Somehow the thrift store pays other charities everytime they get a donation, so in  a way, a thrift store donation is helping 2 separate causes.

  • My work is doing a charity drive to fill back packs with school supplies for kids in need.  I copied all the things I needed to buy and went to Target.  The total was just over $8, and as I drove off I thought, "I really should have done two for that price."
Anyway, I get home and realized that I forgot to get a ruler.  So I get back in the car and think that as long as I'm going back I might as well get the stuff for another back pack.  Walk into Target and see scissors, hmmmm, I think that was on the list too.  I look and yup, it was.  I grab the scissors and go on my merry way to find the rulers.  Find them and grab it.  I stood in the school supply section and asked myself if I should get the stuff for another back pack.  I decided not to because I know I would have walked out of the store again and realized I'd forgotten something.  I mean I forgot two things the first time with a list and thought I'd only forgot one.
I feel like I should have made the effort to do two, but I'm satisfied that I got just one done.  And I did it for $10!  Well, and two trips to the store.....
  • My workplace took up a collection in honor of a co-worker who recently and unexpectedly passed on. The plan is to use that money to remodel and update the community room of the inpatient psychiatric unit where he worked. It's a fitting memorial, given that he was known to use his own money to buy things that the unit needed, such as new furniture for the community room. So I donated to that.

  • I went through our closets  and collected a bag of clothes to donate.  I've also accumulated some housewares and unused school supplies so I'll be dropping those off this week (I know it's past the deadline but this is one of those cases where it;s better to be late than never!).

  • I have a pile for clothes to donate that I haven't yet. I am also volunteering at the local community theater. I am starting on Saturday. I am really excited.
