Window Treatment Issues!

Long story short, we are in the situation where we need to buy a traverse curtain rod, along with pinch pleated curtains, for a dining room patio door. I've had some luck locating nicer curtain rods - but it seems like patterned (or even plain) pinch pleated curtains are almost impossible to find! Does anyone have any tips on where I can order some decently priced (under $200) pinch pleated drapes that aren't so old-fashioned??

Re: Window Treatment Issues!

  • You could easily make your own for way under that amount. Or you could look around your area for someone who makes them, and you could just provide the fabric.

What stores have you been looking at? Here are some if you're looking for inspiration:
World Market, West Elm, One Kings Lane, 55 Downing Street, Joss & Main, Wayfair, Gilt, Hautelook, Rue La La, Overstock.com, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Home Goods, JCPenney.
  • There are a few places on that list that I've never heard of or haven't look at yet. I totally forgot about Joss & Main and we have a Home Goods nearby. It just seems like pinch pleats are so old-fashioned that hardly anyone carries them. I would love to make my own, but it seems a little intimidating. The largest scale of a sewing project that I've done is make pillows or simple purses. Haha. Thank you!!

  • Try Craigslist too.

  • So I found a traverse rod at Lowe's (with clips, not hooks) and got a back tab set of curtains. It worked! I'm not extremely picky, so I don't mind that it's not pinch pleated and perfect, my husband and I love them. Thanks all! :)
  • Do you have an IKEA near by? They have great (and cheap) pleated curtains.
