Hey Ladies,
I got a call yesterday that my oldest brother was at the hospital with a possible heart attack. They took him by ambulance from his small town hospital an hour away to a Twin Cities hospital. They diagnosed it as a heart attack and placed two stints in his heart at about three in the morning. They let him out of ICU this morning and I'm going up to see him tonight. Luckily, the hospital is close to the entire family so everyone can visit him.
Everything sounds really positive, well as positive as a heart attack at 37 can be. He's going to have to be on meds for his high cholesteral for a year and asprin for the rest of his life. He's married with four kids. The kids are upset but handling everything pretty well.
This honestly just scares me to no end. My oldest brother and sister are 1/2 siblings. I worry about them all the time, as my 1/2 sister had multiple strokes in her 20s and one more minor one like a year ago. She's 35 with 3 kids. Their mother's side of the family has a ton of heart problems at young ages. I really hope the kids missed the bad heart genes.
Just please keep them all in your T&Ps. I'm just a mess of worry right now and probably should have just not come into work today, because I'm not getting much done.
Re: T&Ps
Thank you all! I saw him last night and he was joking around like his usual self. He made a comment about going back to work on Friday. We all lectured him, his crazy work schedule is probably a huge contributor to having a heart attack at 37! Hopefully, he'll get all the rest he needs.
