Clearing up some lies you've been told about the vagina...

Great article.

There is indeed a physcian that I know who has recommended warm water only to externally clean the vulva. No soaps, no douches, no spray on crap -- just waarm water and that is all.

I've also been a non advocate of sprays and other "Cleaners." The Europeans have been relying on bidets for centuries.

And it isn't good to douche if it is not medically prescribed. it's a good way to throw off the pH balance of your vagina and cause lots of nasty infections as a result. And remember: the vagina is self cleaning. No need to use any of that crap.

I like this article.  I just got upset about a commercial selling a product you can carry in your purse for when you get that "not so fresh" feeling.  If you have a strong odor or discharge, then you need to see your doctor.  Otherwise it is a vagina and, to quote my favorite Vagina Monologue, "My vagina doesn't need to be cleaned up. It smells good already. Don't try to decorate. Don't believe them when he tells you it smells like rose petals when it's supposed to smell like p*ssy."
