If you've used Kitten/Cat Attract...
Was it a slow process for you, or did your cat immediately get better using the litter box? We brought a kitten home a few weeks ago, and at first he wouldn't use any litter. We found kitten attract and while he's willing to use it most of the time, he still likes to poop in other places sometimes. I took him to the vet, and the vet said she thinks it's a substrate issue and to keep trying new litters. Still, the only one he will use at all is the kitten attract. I've done all of the suggested things that I've read about online and in the info packet the vet gave me. He pees in his litter box, but every few days he decides to poop somewhere other than his litter. Usually in my fireplace or on carpeting. It is frustrating. I don't know what to do to help this behavior. Any ideas? Does it just take longer to build the habit for some cats? I've never had a cat that did this before. He's approximately 12 weeks old. Any thoughts are appreciated. I feel like I've exhausted all of the resources currently available to me.
