Camera Recs

So, my camera died, just in time for 1st day of school pics (DD starts 9/2).  I think it got sand in it.  DH is going to attempt to take it apart today, but I'm not optimistic.
Anyone have a point and shoot camera they love?  My last two have been Olympus brand, the first one I loved, this last one was just OK.  DH is technology challenged, so it needs to be simple to use, but if it has some great other features I'll play with those a little.

Re: Camera Recs

  • I have a Nikon J3 and love it. It isn't a point and shoot but it does have an automatic setting but it gives you the advantages of a DSLR (lenses, manual settings) but it is compact. I haven't really messed with it a whole lot, I usually just leave it in automatic or video and have been super happy with it. My husband has the Sony version of this style of camera.

  • We have a Nikon Coolpix.  We've had it for for 3 years maybe.  It's a pretty good camera and we got a deal on it at Costco.

  • I have a sony nex 5t, which like Kris's camera is a compact camera with interchangeable lenses. I really like it a lot. And it has a cool feature where I can download an app to my phone then transfer a pic from my camera to my phone (or laptop) wirelessly. The shutter is quick and the auto mode is so much better than the one on my previous point and shoot (an older cannon powershot)

This is what my husband has, although his is an older version that doesn't do all that cool stuff!

I wanted a camera that had a wifi download function and mine has an optional add for that.
