So it's been a really, really long week...
It started off we me being really depressed about not getting a teaching job for this year. I had so many interviews, I thought for sure that one of them would be positive. But nope. So I got a little toasty (as J likes to call consuming too much alcohol) and I basically said, "screw it." My friend and I have been talking about starting a sewing business for a long time, and I think the only thing that is standing in our way at this point is a fear of it failing. And I'm at the point that I feel like I can't fail much more, so we are going to sit down and iron out the details.
Wednesday brought so good things for my BIL... He got a call on Tuesday night from a professor of his, saying that at her new school, there was a open internship position. It started today. So needless to say, he applied for grad school, got in, and moved to Ohio in 5 days. I miss him already. He was my drinking buddy...
And then on Thursday, I went to my eye doctor appointment. I've had this red spot on my eye for about a year, and it didn't look like anything serious, so I waited until my appointment. Well, the doctor decided to send me to a specialist in Philly, because as he put it, there is less than a 1% chance it could be a tumor. I'm incredibley freaked out though, because this doctor has basically asked me to show up with all of the paperwork for surgery.
Re: When it rains on here...
I've been thinking I need to do more locally. Sew up a bunch of stuff in advance and find a craft fair to sell at maybe.
