Baby product recommendations

Considering this kiddo is supposed to be here in 9 weeks or so, I need to start actually doing things to prep for that.

Does anyone have a double stroller they love? I want one that Logan can sit in and the baby can eventually sit forward facing in as well. I feel like I need a stroller consultant to help narrow down my options. :)

Also, any baby wearing suggestions? We have a bulky one that we used maybe 3 times with Logan. I'm looking for one that will be easier to get baby 2 in and out of and that I can still carry on with life.

Re: Baby product recommendations

  • I am leaning towards the citi mini double stroller right now. It won't fit two infant seats, but there is an adapter available if you want to use it with one. I like that the handle is adjustable for height cause I am tall and the standard height is never comfortable for me. Plus it folds small and isn't especially wide and should fit through most doors.

I don't think I will wear the twins... though maybe if I decided to wear Mo his adjustment would be less stressful on him.

  • Strollers, no help.

Baby Wearing: My sister got an Ergo which she likes but it is more structurered and my BIL can wear it. She also got a K'Tan and loves it. She loves the fact that there is no guess work in wrapping plus it isn't super hot to wear. She says it is great and she has used it a ton since she bought it. She did have to exchange it for size when she first got it but that was the only glitch

  • We have the Chicco double stroller. It's a little on the heavy side (although I guess most doubles are), but it was easy to maneuver, and it didn't feel like it was that much bigger than the single. We also had the Chicco infant seats, so it was easy to pop in and out. You are welcome to test it out!

I used the Ergo carrier with Garrett, I really liked it.

  • No recs on the double stroller, but for DS I used a babyhawk meitai.  I liked it because it was easy to fold and throw in the diaper bag, because it was unstructured, but it was easier to use then the wraps.  I found I didn't actually need a double stroller because I had DD ride in the stroller (she was just shy of three when DS was born) and wore DS when we went out.

I wore DS primarily on the front, although when he was older (and I had help) I could wear him on my back.  There were also times I wore DD on my back since she's a lightweight.

I've been meaning to list my meitai on craigslist but haven't gotten around to it.  If you want to try it out, let me know.  It still looks like brand new.

  • I have the City Mini Double and LOVE it.  I had a snap and go when the boys were infants and it was so good for daycare drop offs and going in and out of the stores but as they got bigger and heavier the City Mini was my go to.  I had several, the Graco double (front/back) it was hard to steer and the Coutour Options just took to long to put together . I also have a maclaren Twin triumph stroller, which is good for just quick in and out trips too.  I keep that one in my car as the City Mini stays in the Van and takes up more room.   Sorry so long but it took me so long to find the right stroller I thought I would share.
  • They also make these things that you attach to the sides like at string with a handle so the other child can hang on and still have some independence too, but you can keep an eye on them as well.
  • I've heard great things about ergo. If we were to have another one that would be the first thing I would buy! I had a moby wrap and was annoyed with it (although it was decent)

  • I missed that you were expecting!  Congrats!   I love our Baby Jogger City Select.  It can do just about everything.  I narrowed things down to the City Mini and City Select.  After pushing both (USA Baby on McKnight has both in stock you can try out) I knew the Select was the better option for us.

I really wanted to baby wear Harrison but he wanted NOTHING to do with that.

  • As far as baby wearing, I would get one of the new Ergo 360's. I used a Moby wrap a lot with DS when he was a newborn, but that's a bit of work. We have probably used the ring sling the most, they're so versatile, can be used from newborn pretty much until your back isn't strong enough, and are pretty easy to use. I don't like to use them for a long time now that he's bigger, though, only 15-ish minutes at a time. We use the Mei Tai for longer trips, walks, etc.
  • I bought the BOBA Air baby carrier just this year to carry Elsey in and I so wish I had had it for when she was an infant and when Keefer was a baby.  It is so lightweight and folds up nice and small to keep in the diaper bag.  I've used it for hiking this summer as well as when we had activities with Keefer like ice skating and I needed to keep her from running wild but didn't have room for a stroller and it was perfect.  It also has a large weight range (up to 45 pounds!), so we should be able to continue using it.

As for a stroller, I love my Joovy Caboose.  It's an older version that I bought off of someone on Craigslist.  It's a sit and stand, not a true double, but worked great with my kids age difference (Keefer was 3 when Elsey was born).

  • I have the BOBA 3G and I love it. I still wear G like a back pack sometimes.
