Door Locking PSA

DH was working so I had solo bedtime duty.  A few weeks ago Nolan figured out how to unlock his door, so we turned the door knob around to keep him in his room while he's falling asleep (we unlock it once he's asleep.)  Lately we've been having to lay with him to get him to sleep too. So, last night I get him to sleep and go to leave and find out that Brinley locked the door!  She was fast asleep and sleeps like a log.  I knocked on the door and tried to wake her up, but she was out cold.  I was stuck in there until DH got home.

So...PSA...if you're a stellar parent who turns your kid's doorknob around, be sure to keep a key inside his room.

  • lol...too funny.  Did you at least have your phone for entertainment?

Yes thank goodness!  I use Candy Crush and Frozen to teach Nolan his colors (you see all of my stellar parenting skills coming out here), so it's part of our bedtime routine for me to have the phone in there.

  • I have been known to let Jude "help" me with a round of Candy Crush at bedtime while we cuddle in his bed.  No shame!

  • I know somebody else this happened to as well! Too funny.
  • The people who built my parents' house were hot messes (and surprisingly out of business) and put my doorknob on backwards by mistake. My little sister used to delight in locking me in my room. Lol! She used to get in SO much trouble for that.
