Embarassing Moments

Amy's post about being locked in the room with her toddler below inspired me.  Let's share some of our recent embarrassing moments.  Parenting or otherwise.  And....go!

Re: Embarassing Moments

  • Mine...

I have a private bathroom off of my office.  (It's a perk! Woo...always good to make sure I don't have anything in my teeth before leading worship.)  It is just your ordinary interior bathroom....

So, because it is private, I have used it for all of my :::ahem:::  business.... No one else goes in there, so its NBD.  I leave the fan on 'til I go in the next time...whatever....

Well, we have a cleaning crew who comes to collect garbage and clean.  At least 3 times in the last few months they have shown up within minutes of me using the bathroom.  And then he makes a comment about the odor in there!

So far I've been able to pass it off as the drain being smelly....(and that actually does happen from time to time.)  But I sort of want to say..."It's a bathroom....what do you think I do in there?!?!"  And, they come at random times, so there is no way to predict!

So, that's my embarrassing story of the day...

  • LOL! I sometimes have similar issues. My floor is 99.9% women. There is ALWAYS someone in bathroom, and there is never any privacy. This can be really uncomfortable when, you know, you have to take care of certain things. People comment that it must be nice to work, because I at least don't have kids badgering me while I'm trying to do my business. No, not really. It is far more awkard for me to constantly have a co-worker in the stall next to me. I'm much more comfortable when my kids are in my face, because at least they don't judge, lol! I've ofetn wished for my own personal bathroom, but I'd probably always run into the same issue as you! =)

Another is, over the summer, I was running on our treadmill in the basement. I was super hot, so I took off my shirt and just had on biker shorts and a sports bra. Something I would never in a million years let anyone see me wearing. When I was done, I was so sweaty, I decided not to put my shirt back on and just go upstairs to shower. I had heard DH and the boys come in and out from the backyard, but didn't think much of it. When I walked into the kitchen, there were two of my neighbors, DH, and all of the neighborhood kids. Luckily, I was holding my shirt and put it in front of me and quickly left the room, but I was seriously mortified!

I can't think of any more at the moment...I think I embarrass myself so much that I am immune to it!

  • No one else?!?!   (Thanks for sharing Meghan....at least I don't feel alone, now.  ;) )

  • I know I have a lot.  I just can think of any.   Dd and I were in the middle of a store the other day and she (loudly) told me she had crust in her bum and she needed to get it out.

I was at the consignment sale yesterday wandering along. I heard a voice that sounded really familiar and realized I was walking beside Ray Petlin from Channel 4 news. While he was being filmed. I'm sure I look like a goober - it was hot in the dome so I was sweaty and also looking around for the voice that sounded familiar :/
