Stop growing up!

DD has her first loose tooth.  And it seems like overnight it's on the verge of falling out.  I'm still adjusting to her starting kindergarten.  No more milestones right  now.
And she seems too young.  She won't be 6 until March.

What age did your kiddos start losing teeth?

Re: Stop growing up!

  • H lost her first one during her first couple months of Kindergarten. :-)

  • I think EJ lost her first within weeks of starting K. so she would have been around 5 years and 9 months old?  I lost my first earlier. I was either at the end of 4 or the first half of 5.
  • My kids didn't get teeth until after their first birthdays.  It will probably be a long time until anything falls out of their mouths.  I don't think I lost a tooth until 3rd grade.

  • Dd lost her first tooth when she was in K and was around 5 and a half. That seems to be right about normal!

It totally hit me too because k was enough of baby growing up moment! Then shortly after the first tooth fell out another one fell out...then nothing else until now. Dd has one getting really wiggly and I'm still a little sad that she is growing up so fast!

  • Jake hasn't lost a tooth yet (he will be 7 in January) but I know he had some friends in preschool who had already lost theirs, so I don't think it's unusual that she has a loose one right now...but I agree, I'm not ready for this!  one, because it's definitely a big milestone...and two, because loose teeth gross me out!!

It wasn't loose for long, and I didn't have to deal with pulling it out!  On her way to school on Friday she had her seatmate on the bus (who's in 4th grade) pull it out for her.

  • My 4.5 year old lost his first tooth and then a few weeks later lost the one next to it. he got his teeth early though and the dentist said if you get them early you lose them early. first tooth at 4 months old.  i think he is the only one in his class to have lost his teeth.

my 1 year old seems to be on the same track too. he got his first tooth a few days before he turned 4 months.  he now has 16 teeth!
