NBR: Homer the Tumor is being evicted!

So I got a surgery date, finally.  December 8th.  December 8th.  It seems like I've just been through the longest month of my entire life and I have two more to go.  

The tumor is pressing on my brain stem (no bueno) and it's big so my only option is surgery.  They are going to try to preserve my hearing but there is no guarantee.  I hope that they can but I'm not picky.  As long as I can have a decent quality of life and be there for my daughter, I'll go without hearing.  

Thoughts and prayers, friends.  

I'm scared.  

Like super scared.  

I have a great game face though.  I'm ready...I am soooo ready.

You will ROCK this. You have a great attitude, and that's about all you can do. The rest will be what it will be, but you will be in hands of good doctors. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you all the way through. It's ok to be scared. It's normal to be scared.

Well f**k me running,

Looks like there is a set back.  I met with my surgeon yesterday (the main surgeon) and he said that he doesn't think it's acoustic neuroma--in fact, he doesn't know what it is.  He doesn't even know if it's benign.  He thinks that it may have attached itself to the brainstem and so he's worried that he will have to leave some attached there so that he doesn't "anger" my brain stem.  

Not only that, he doesn't think December is soon enough...so I have no idea how "soon" he wants it.

I can't stop crying.

And you guys are the only ones I'm telling other than my boss because i don't want to freak anyone out.  

There aren't any words left.
