Any Gone Girl readers going to see the movie?

I've heard nothing but good things on tv about the movie.  My mom saw it yesterday and she said she liked it, but liked the book better.  And the woman behind her wanted her money back.  I read the book over a year ago, so I don't remember every little detail.  Maybe that will be better.  I won't be able to compare everything.

  • I didn't love the book, so I won't be going to the theater to see the movie, but it is one that I will rent eventually.  I'm curious to see what they do with it.

  • I saw it and liked it. It's one of those movies where it's a little odd to go "YES! I loved it!" just based on the subject matter. But I thought it was true to the book and is a good mystery type of movie.

I am so glad that I am not the only one who did not love this book. I seriously HATED it in the beginning but everyone said it got better in the middle so I trudged along. I seriously hated both of them and then the ending made me want to throw the book.

ETA: My sister and brother both saw it and thought it was great.

  • I just saw it yesterday and loved it. I read the book a long time ago, so I didn't remember everything. Most if it came back as I was watching, but I didn't notice if the movie was different than the book.

I can't say if I liked the movie or book better. When reading the book, some things seemed a little out there, but the movie made it "realistic". I also think they did a good job casting the actors for the roles.
  • I went to see it Friday night. I thought it was a well done movie. I'd recommend the movie. B

I read the book & thought it was done well, yet I hated both the main characters.
