Pumpkin carving

I want to get my brother a nice pumpkin carving kit but my idea of pumpkin carving is the cheapest set they sell by the pumpkins at the grocery.  I've been searching online but I can't figure out which ones are good and which will break the first year. He likes to carve and shave them so I know he needs a variety. Has anyone used a kit that was nice and sturdy?

Re: Pumpkin carving

  • If you really want sturdy carving tools, go to an art store and get tools intended for clay, wood, or other materials.  They can still be used for things like pumpkins, but they will probably last longer, and you will have a large variety of tip/blade options.
