UPDATE: More pet prayers
Last night Deuce was having trouble urinating. DH took him to the vet today and they tried giving him a catheter, but couldn't because his prostate is enlarged. He's going through a barrage of tests now. A month or so ago he had blood in his urine, so we took him to the vet and they gave him an antibiotic and it was all cleared up.
After having to have Pixie put to sleep just a few weeks ago, I cannot handle more bad pet news right now.
UPDATE: The vet thinks the enlarged prostate is being caused by a bacterial infection (a UTI). Because he's had them before (blood in his urine that was treated with antibiotics) on a fairly regular basis, they're recommending we get him neutered, however, because of his von willebrand disease it has to be done at a special facility that has platelets available.
For right now he's on an anti-inflammatory and a super-strong antibiotic. So for now, not as bad as the awful scenario I dreamed up in my head.
