Another pet post

I just made an appointment request for my cat Nora. She became my housemate 18 years ago this month and I have a strong suspicion that this will be her last vet visit. :-/

It's possible that it is the hyperthyroid, but I tend to think that it is just age.

Waiting impatiently for the office to call me back.

  • I'm sorry.  It's hard to lose a long-time companion.

  • Thanks, ladies. I'm sad but somewhat resigned. At least the guilt over Nora living in the basement will be resolved, and I think we trust Stewart enough to let him have full access to the house again.

I totally understand that feeling. I've said it before, my decision with Murphy was the easiest and hardest decision I ever made. You know in your head it is the right decision but it doesn't make your heart hurt any less.

To be honest, taking Pixie to the vet for the last time was SO incredibly hard. I wrestled with the decision, but the second it was over I felt at peace, knowing she was at peace.

  • I'm so sorry.  It seems like it's been a rough month for pets in our little community here!

  • Thanks all. The vet appointment is Saturday morning. Trying to squeeze in Nora time where I can during a busy week.
