Dog Update

The medicine that the vet provided didn't work.  Yesterday Deuce couldn't urinate at all.  DH took him to PVSEC yesterday. They found a build-up of kidney stones that were blocking his urethra.  Our regular vet has done numerous x-rays, ultra sounds, etc over the past few months looking for kidney stones and always said that he didn't have any.

He needed to have emergency surgery.  They had to shorten an re-route his urethra.  He's recovering and doing well. Will get to come home tomorrow or Thursday.

I'm glad he's OK, but I'm sick to my stomach about how much this will cost.

Re: Dog Update

  • That sucks but I am glad you found an answer.

    Speedy recovery to poor Deuce!

I think we are going to be ending up at PVSEC, since Bruce's eye is no better (we go today to get the pressure checked.) AND our vet suddenly left :(( and I have little to no faith in the one we saw last week even though she had been his vet when he was younger, he is not a fan of her at all.

Good luck today.  DH loved PVSEC.  He said that is where he's going to take him from now on.

  • I'm sure they are great, it is the price tag that I am scared of!
