I was in CA for the past week for my friends wedding and now I'm slowly getting back on East Coast time and dealing with the lovely head cold that I picked up on the plane.
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. The wedding was absolutely beautiful! I got teary-eyed during the ceremony because I was just so happy for my friend. If you remember back to our Knot days, she was my MOH who had to have surgery for a brain aneurysm 2 months before our wedding. I'm so happy that she's happy and healthy now : )
One funny story...her friend that was her MOH was such a bitch! I was a bridesmaid but not MOH b/c my friend didn't want to ask me to assume that responsibility when she knew I'd be finishing my Ph.D. I was absolutely fine with that and not at all insulted, I actually appreciated it. I never met her friend that was MOH until 2 days before the wedding, and honestly I don't know how my friend is even friends with her! At one point she pissed off me, the bride's sisters, and the bride's mother. The bride's mother pretty much told her to shut up, haha! Bitchy MOH also f`ed up the bride's bustle on her dress, when MOH went to go be bitchy to the reception staff (those poor people wanted to kill her too), I fixed the bustle and then avoided MOH for the rest of the wedding : )
On the job front, after our plane landed for our layover in Boston I found a voicemail on my phone from one of the jobs I applied for before I left for CA. I have an interview on 11/11!!!! I did a happy dance as our plane was taxiing to the gate. This job sounds absolutely perfect for me, so I'm very excited for this interview. Hopefully this place won't take months to make a decision like the other jobs that I interviewed for : / Fingers (and toes, and everything else) are crossed!!!!
UPDATE: So, yesterday I was trying to sleep off this terrible head cold. I woke up from my nap and had a strong need to check my email. I had applied for 2 jobs before we left for CA...one was mentioned above that I have an interview for on Tues and the other one that I applied for I thought I had no chance of them even reading my resume. Yesterday's email was from the second place. They want me to do this writing test by Friday (they sent me a scientific study and I have to write a summary about it), also they wanted a little more info so that they could consider me for another job at that company as well. It's really nice to have more opportunities in the works, but I wish I didn't have to do the writing test when I feel like crap from this cold : / It'll be ok though, I had a similar cold a week before my thesis was due and that turned out fine ; )
