How to get out of a reading slump... Go-to author?

Since starting work in September, I had been in a reading slump and went about two months without reading anything.  I tried to read Wild by Cheryl Strayed, but it was just too slow at the time (I do plan to finish it).  So, I finally went to my go-to authors to help me get out of my reading slump, and ended up reading three books and listened to one audiobook in the last week.  So, I'm just curious... who are the authors you depend on to help get you back into reading?

For me, it's Colleen Hoover and Cora Carmack.  They are easy, mindless, funny, sexy reads, that often have a deeper meaning attached.  This last week I read:
Finding It (Losing It #3) by Cora Carmack
All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack
All Broke Down (Rusk University #2)  by Cora Carmack
Currently reading: Point of Retreat (Slammed #2) by Colleen Hoover
Listened to: Slammed by Colleen Hoover

  • Sometimes I'll pick up something totally different that everything I've been reading and sometimes I'll reread an old favorite. Most recently it's been The Daughter of Smoke and Bone series and The Raven Boys series, or I am the Messenger.

  • Nora Roberts books are my brain's comfort food as are Debora Geary's books.  I'm still not sure how I feel about the changeover she did but I'm willing to give the first book a shot.

  • Thanks for the reminder about the second Rusk University book! I just requested it from the library.

I absolutely LOVED it!  I really liked the first one, but this one was my favorite so far.  :)

  • Nora Roberts and JK Rowling/HP. Either one brings me out of a slump.

  • If I'm in a really long slump I pick up a favorite series.  Harry Potter always works for me.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
    "I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

  • I'm with @Menrandes . If I'm in a slump, I re-read some Harry Potter. I have a few classics in my library that I pick up too - P&P, The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo - and read my favorite sections.

  • I usually go back to books I loved and own. Shelly Laurenston and Nora Roberts have been my go tos. I think I'd add Kristen Ashley to that list and I just found her stuff this year.
  • I usually turn towards my favorites that I can re-read over and over without tiring of them. Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice being at the top of the list.
