Re: QOTD 11/7

  • I bring my own.  I've been collecting reusable bags since 2008. when they were cool in my area.  I occasionally use plastic bags if I forget my own, but it's very rare.  And I resuse them for cleaning my cat's litter box.

  • I make DH bag the groceries.  He uses paper mostly.  I just roll with it.
  • Reusable bags 99% of the time. Otherwise it's plastic and we use them for the recycling garbage, bathroom garbage, and dog poop pick up. Never not re-used.

  • Our grocery store doesn't have paper.  We use plastic and reuse them for trash cans, cat litter, carrying shit around, etc.

  • We almost always bring our own. Except for occasionally at Trader Joes. We like their paper bags and will use them for recycling at home.

  • We do shoprite from home so they bag our stuff in paper and plastic. We re use the plastic for garbage liners, dirty diapers etc., the paper we recycle.

  • Reusable (or my big purse if I'm just grabbing a few items). If I forget then it get plastic and keep them to recycle.

  • We use our own bags.  The City of Austin doesn't allow any stores to use plastic bags now, so you either have to pay for paper bags or bring your own.

  • Always reusable. We started using the reusable bags when we lived in Rochester. I had seen a documentary on the big pile of trash (much of it being plastic bags) that's floating in the Pacific Ocean, and that's when we really committed to making the switch. Now that we live in MD, our county has a 5 cent bag tax on plastic and paper bags. It's just another incentive to remember our reusable bags.

  • Plastic. We do reuse them though for garbage and carrying things. Plus I was able to donate them to our local animal shelter.

  • Reusable. Jeff makes fun of me but I do what I can and I don't want 100000000000 plastic bags in the house. We use a few for bathroom trash cans and Jeff using them in his truck. But they will give you 1 bag per item some times.

  • I use the plastic bags and then reuse them in the garbage cans and for diapers. Any extras I put in the bag recycling bin at the supermarket. I would use paper, but no stores around here except Trader Joes or Whole Foods offer them anymore.
