West Penn obgyn unicornuate u

I was just diagnosed with uu yesterday. I go to Dr.Sword. Any luck with having this condition and conceiving?

Re: West Penn obgyn unicornuate u

  • I have no experience with this, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry for this diagnosis for you.  I hope and pray that you find solutions and work arounds to allow you overcome this condition.
  • I was told when I had my dating ultrasound with second daughter that I had one. Being it was my second child, you can see it wasn't an issue with conceiving. :) The NP that sees all OB patients for your first visit ( I go to westmoreland women's health) said do not google. I did anyway And read when pregnant it can cause various issues as the baby grows and runs out of room. I never had that issue. First daughter was a week late and never was an issue. At least you are aware but try not to focus on the negative.
  • My close friend (and former nestie) also has a UU, and I believe only one functional ovary.  She was unable to conceive on her own.  However through IUI, she ended up carrying twin boys to 34 weeks before she had to deliver due to unrelated (to her uterus) complications.
  • I do not have experience with this condition, however, I have gone through infertility treatments for all of my pregnancies.  If your treatment plan includes seeing an RE, I would be happy to provide recommendations and share my experiences with the different procedures.  Good luck to you!
  • And I am sorry to cause confusion with my above post.... I have a bicornate Uterus. All the ladies here will have great advice.
  • No personal experience but I have known several folks with UU and most have conceived at least 1 pregnancy; however, the miscarriage percentage is high
