Do you think we are going to have a bad winter like last year?

Ugh, I hope not...but I'm not exactly optimistic. We went from having beautiful weather in the DC area last week to temps 20-30 degrees below average this week. I keep saying to H, "we did move south, right?!" Today, it's pouring out but at least it's not the snow that a good portion of the country is seeing.

According to the almanac, Indiana is not supposed to be as bad.  It says cold and snow but not as much as last year.

I'm optimistic about this winter, but I'm thinking it will be similar to last year. I can handle snow, I just hate HATE it being so cold! 

Today's weather like @brainybrunette is just pure misery.

I think it will hit hard and then be milder after the first of the year.  It's 10 degrees here. I hate this crap.  I'm happy my ML will be during the worst driving time.

I have to visit DH's family in northeastern PA/NY (Elmira area) around the first of the year for our Christmas visit.  Dreading it so much.  

And DH's best friend is getting married in Baltimore on Jan 18.

I hate everything.

I thought this winter was going to be better, but with this cold front that we have, I'm not so sure anymore.  I normally don't mind the cold because we'll just turn the heater on, but my parents house is two story and it's so hard to get it warm downstairs without the upstairs getting to be 85.  So, we've been having to leave the heater off.

@WillyH I would love that!!! The wedding is MLK day, rehearsal is the day before, and not sure when we're getting in but I'd love to meet up if we have time!  DH is man of honor so maybe I will have some time to kill alone.  

I've never been to Baltimore before!

I was hoping for a mild winter, but that isn't in the predictions. I just hope we don't use all of our snow days. We won't have spring break again and I like spring break.

I think it'll be as bad, maybe worse here. DH loves the weather, all signs point to verrrrrrrrrry cold and hopefully snowy. 

DC area ladies...I'm hopefully going to be up there Dec 4- 7. I'd be getting in around 6 or 7 I think on the 4th. My BFF just decided Friday that she and her FI are going to try and get married in Feb/March (I'd freak with the short time span) and I'm going to hopefully fly up and go dress shopping!! She's got to make sure it works with her schedule before I book it. Anyone be up for a GTG then??

I'm sincerely hoping it's not as bad as last year. Or that I better my abilities of not getting my car stuck in snow.

mana8503, I'm not as familiar with Bmore, I haven't been there since a grad school interview. I'd make it work though...it'll probably involve the MARC.

I am so jealous of all the GTGs that are being planned in Baltimore. If it's MLK weekend, maybe I could con H into a weekend away...

Hoping this year is it as bad as last year but the predictions say it's going to be a lot of snow :-(

@brainybrunette‌ - I'm never in the city. It scares this country girl. Jeff knows it like the back of his hand from towing and delivering groceries. I know the inner Harbor and dc I know the mall.

I haven't thought too much about winter.  Snow is my mortal enemy, but it gets a free pass on Christmas day.  Last year we had the Polar Vortex, frost quakes and an insane amount of snow.  The winds were the worst since we are surrounded by fields and no trees.  I have attached a picture for reference...that snow was after one weekend last year.  Our neighbor had to help us plow the end of our drive.

@brainybrunette and @mana8503 I'll let you guys know as soon as I know if I'm coming so we can work something out!! She lives in La Plata, MD and I'll be staying with her. I know she does public transit to get into DC when working, but we'll be driving in over the weekend. I hope this works out!!!

I'll be the annoying CA girl, but I actually hope we have a "worse" winter because we need any rain possible. I'm also not traveling to the Midwest for Xmas, so there's that.....
